BIOGRAPHY
Oliver Gruhn
Born in Berlin, first played the trumpet and studied trombone and composition at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy.
Since 1988 he has been the deputy principal trombonist of the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, and its principal trombonist since 2007.
His compositional work ranges from first pieces for trombone and compositions for the BigBand of the HfM Berlin to chamber music and large-scale symphonic pieces, film music and works under the influence of jazz to opera and orchestral songs.

In 2022 he wins the Global International Music Competition with the highest score awarded for his orchestral song "Schmetterlinge im Spätsommer".​

In 2023, platinum at the Canadian International Music Competition for "Schmetterlinge im Spätsommer" and also platinum for the orchestration and production of "Malven" by Richard Strauss.
Also in 2023 he wins Gold at the Euro Elite International Music Competition with 2 orchestral songs.
At the seventh edition of the Concours de musique Québec 2023, he wins the competition in the composition category with an
Absolute Platinum Award for "Nächtlicher Regen".
